We've evaluated DO4 over the last few days. We are using several Views in our current DB. We can't find a way to use them. Does DO4 work with Views?

I have to take back the earlier remark about views. In the not so far future (lets say by the end of this year) we will have to access a DB from another organization that uses, a lot of, Views and Stored Procedures to gather its data. Can you give us a timeline on when DO4 will support these features?

Hello Paul,

First of all, I had to move your topic to 'DataObjects.Net v4 / Support requests', don't be surprised.

Going back to the question: DO.Net 4 does not support views yet, although such a feature might appear in future releases as this could be quite useful in Legacy mode.

BTW, what views are being used for in your application?

Let's leave this till the nearest planning iteration - right now this feature isn't in our near-time plans (1-2 months); but since there are lots of such features, it's difficult to make a prediction.

We'll provide more precise info here till the end of this month.

Hi Dmitri,

Lucky for us we have only 1 View at the moment. We use it for Localization (translating strings for WPF). We easily could make a work-arround for that. We possibly will have more views in the future.

I can add this is one of components forming "better Legacy mode support" (IDENTITY, views, SPs, etc.), that is one of high-priority features for us.
