Will you add providers for these services? Or we have to stick with O2O/DisconnectedState approach? Thanks, David

thanks for answer, I didnt notice the astoria sample, will investigate..

I was curious because if you want a silverlight client you have to have dll built against SL runtime.. so I cannot reference your dlls.. no use of DisconnectedState.. have to look about the O2O.

David

One Answer:

WCF Data Services are already supported (actually, almost nothing is necessary to do this). See Sandbox/AstoriaSample.

Unfortunately, currently there are no any exact plans for WCF RIA Services.

If WCF Data Services isn't a good option, O2O or DisconnectedState are alternatives we offer. O2O API will be significantly improved soon; DisconnectedState will be nearly the same - only minor improvements are planned here.

Yes, in case with SL you need (O2O | WCF Data Services | custom WCF-based serialization).

There are plans on perting DO4 to SL, but they're pretty long term (hopefully, this year). So further there must be one more option: remote:// protocol + SL port.
