Why does DO create these tables?

From my understanding, if a type is marked with these two attributes, a table is unnecessary, because all data is kept in tables of child types.

These tables have no rows, yet DO creates them for some reason.

As far as I remember, they're created to distinguish schema changes later. They're really unnecessary in any other case.

AFAIK, no. I assume you can only remove them manually + build the domain in Skip mode.
