Today I irresponsibly upgraded to Data Objects 4.4 (hoping to get the benefits of the latest release!) and I am cursing myself.

There were a number of errors, even after using the Upgrade Tool. I manually corrected those.

Finally, I am getting this error, when I use Perform option on an existing database.

No upgrade handler is found for assembly 'Xtensive.Storage', version ''.

When I looked in the database, Metadata.Assembly was still pointing to Xtensive.Storage. After I changed in to Xtensive.Orm manually in the existing database Perform option started working normally.

The upgrade process with existing applications having real data is not handled properly.

I have wasted over 8 hours in what seemed to be very simple looking stuff.

I hope DO4 team takes notice of the pains which people have to go through when upgrading apps in production.

Dear Dimitri,

I very much appreciate your sincerity and action. You have already made me feel better (and special) with your words.

Please keep up the good work, you guys have been doing.

I am hopeful, by the time you reach V 5.0, DO5 will be a rock solid product!

Till then, we will keep building apps on what you provide us.

I have noticed perceivable performance improvements in my app, after upgrading to 4.4. I can not quantify at this stage but users said it is now working faster.

I have just done a platform upgrade, meaning I have still not used the new way of querying using Session.
