Hello xumix, As it had been promised earlier, we started a branch named "post-sharp-2.1" where the version of PostSharp was updated from 2.0 final to 2.1 CTP accordingly. Unfortunately, we've faced with a weird problem while running the test suite:
I suppose that this might require consulting with Gael. So, as soon as the problem is fixed, the updated binaries will be published. Great! Btw, they offer free pro licenses for every bug found in CTPs ;) 1
Perfect! It seems that we should try accusing them of JIT Compiler breakage and gain the license (one more) =) Any news on this? We are definitely interested in a faster compilation! Hello olorin, We've contacted with Gael and sent him the required info that I hope will help to reproduce the issue. So we are waiting for the news from him. Any update? Still waiting for Gael's response. Gael responded that he is busy with another project, so we have to wait. Still no progress. Gael hasn't worked on the issue yet. Gael investigated the issue and reported that our realization of aspects is a bit hackish, it relies on particular PostSharp implementation. As a part of the implementation is changed in Postsharp 2.1, the hacks work no more. So we have to fix this first before migrating to PostSharp 2.1. Good, can't wait to see this implemented :) Any ETA / update on this? Please, use "vote up" button more often! Unfortunately, still no progress and no ETA. Any progress on this since the final version seems to be getting near? The situation is still the same. Sorry for that. As soon as the work is started, we'll inform you. Guys, it has been 6 months. This is a pretty valuable fix. It will drastically reduce build times - my larger projects are suffering. Ara, we are in a process of internal negotiations concerning this feature. Most likely, it will be included into the upcoming sprint. 1
Support for PostSharp 2.1 is implemented and it's being tested thoroughly. Testing done? Release ETA? Ara, the roadmap is the following:
As 4.3.8 & 4.4.1 RC 1 already have been published, the final version will be ready within a week or two, depending on the feedback. BTW, if you don't mind testing a nightly build of 4.4.2 (with PostSharp 2.1) I could send you the assemblies. 4.5, please =) Ara, 4.5 will be updated immediately after we introduce PostSharp 2.1 in 4.4, there would be no additional delay How we looking? Ara, Today we published the latest Beta 5, it can be found on the website. The build requires additional notes, they soon will be published in our blog. The 4.5 builds have been removed from the site. What's the plan? 1
DataObjects.Net 4.5 is still being developed, so eventually the published beta had become outdated and was removed from the website. We are planning to publish the next 4.5 beta tomorrow. |
