Hi,

A couple of our developers regularly switch between using different VPNs to access different client systems.

We have noticed that whenever this happens, the hardware IDs of their respective machines change, which then causes DataObjects.NET to report that it isn't registered and they are unable to build unless they first disconnect from the VPN and then reconnect, or their hardware IDs are updated online in our subscription profile.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Are there any known workarounds for this, as it is a real barrier to our adoption of DataObjects for all projects...?

Thanks

One Answer:

Hello Charles,

Currently we are working on this issue. The problem is that network interface data is taken into account when HWID is calculated. So when you plug-in a mobile phone or establish a VPN connection, HWID is changed.

Charles,

Suddenly I realized I can propose a workaround. What if we temporarily double the number of hardware licenses for your team so you don't need to activate/deactivate hwids on the website?

What do you think?
