I guess that at this moment there is no support for Windows 8 metro style apps. Is there going to come support for it?

One Answer:

Hello Paul,

there is no ADO.NET for metro style apps. This means DO can't work out of the box in this environment. Some third-party solutions exist that reimplement this API, but using them would require users to buy one more license. Or we could rewrite the core parts to remove the dependency on standard ADO.NET types. At this moment we don't have plans to support metro apps due to the above reasons. This might change in future however.
